Januar Jahja and Partners boosts patent and litigation teams

Januar Jahja and Partners, a Jakarta-based intellectual property boutique, has hired three new professionals who will focus on the firms’ patents/designs and litigation departments.

On the patent/design side, the firm has added Wulan Mogesmiranti (Moges), a patent attorney, and Mitha Fuji Adiati, a patent specialist. Mogesmiranti is a licensed attorney with over seven years’ experience handling and advising on all aspects of patent and industrial design prosecution and enforcement. Previously, she worked in the Indonesian office of a multinational IP firm, where she advised clients across a wide spectrum of sectors.

Adiati joins as a patent specialist focusing on the substantive examination of patent applications. Prior to joining the firm, she worked at an Indonesian IP firm for more than three years as a patent specialist to analyze patentability, report and respond to office actions, review patent specifications in the chemical, pharmaceutical, biological, and technical fields, as well as to generally advise clients on patent prosecution matters. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Sultan Ageng Tirtayasa in the province of Banten, Indonesia.

John joins the firm as an associate on the litigation side, where he will focus on IP litigation and enforcement matters such as trademark infringement, cancellation actions, online takedowns, and warning letters. Prior to joining the firm, John worked at another Indonesian IP firm for seven years handling numerous litigation cases and other contentious matters.

“Even in these uncertain times, our firm must continue to elevate services in order to meet client demand and expectations,” Prudence Jahja, managing partner at the firm, said. “With the addition of Moges, Mitha, and John, our ability to do that across two key practice areas has been significantly enhanced, allowing us to provide better advice, consultations, and results to clients in patent/design and litigation matters.”
