China expands IP protection centres

According to China’s top IP regulator, there are currently 75 national IP protection centres throughout the nation.

The China National Intellectual Property Administration (CNIPA) reported that the centres are spread among 29 provinces, autonomous areas and municipalities.

Recently, the CNIPA approved the building of a national IP protection centre in the Ningxia Hui autonomous region. Once operational, the centre will work quickly and cooperatively to preserve intellectual property for the creation of high-end equipment and novel materials.

Additionally, the centre will hasten the upgrading and transformation of economic drivers, foster a healthy environment for innovation and business, and assist the high-quality economic development of the nation’s western regions and ethnic minority areas.
