Block.one Names Alex Erasmus As Chief Legal Officer

Cayman Islands startup Block.one has named Alex Erasmus as its chief legal officer in Hong Kong. Erasmus, who joins from Clifford Chance, where he had been a senior partner in the firm’s London office, will oversee all of the group global legal, regulatory and compliance activities. He will be part of the company’s executive committee and will report to group president Rob Jesudason. Block.one publishes the EOSIO blockchain software protocol and sells the EOS Token, a top-five cryptocurrency. The company raised more than US$4 billion in its initial coin offering in May 2018, even though its flagship product had not yet gone live. Erasmus specializes in global corporate finance, including corporate governance, public and private M&A, restructuring, regulatory and commercial work.
