Beijing-based GEN Law Firm has announced that intellectual property partner James Ma has joined the firm.
Ma, who is based in Shenzhen, has been advising on IP protection and enforcement for two decades and has considerable expertise in IP litigation matters. He has an “outstanding track record” in enforcing patents, trade secrets, trademarks and copyrights in the pharmaceutical, chemical materials, medical devices, semiconductors and telecommunication fields, the firm says. He recently obtained preliminary injunctions in a major pharmaceutical patent dispute. Prior to joining GEN, Ma was a partner at a leading law firm and worked for a major international law firm for years.
Commercial dispute resolution partner Charles Zhao has also joined the firm. Zhao focuses his practice on dispute resolution and corporate law, and also has extensive experience in serving high-net-worth individuals and families in wealth management matters. Prior to joining GEN, Zhao practiced at a leading law firm and handled numerous major cross-border disputes.
GEN has offices in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen.
