Wenhao Chen has joined Merits & Tree Law Firm in Shanghai as a partner in the firm’s dispute resolution and regulatory and compliance practices. Chen joins the firm from AllBright Law Offices, where he was a partner; he previously worked at Kirkland & Ellis, King & Wood Mallesons and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe.
Chen mainly practices in corporate compliance, cyber security, anti-bribery, corporate internal investigation, government regulatory matters and disputes resolution. Chen frequently provides service to the clients from industries such as big data, internet, Hi-Tech, medical devices, automobile parts manufacture, retail and construction engineering.
Chen has extensive experience in company internal investigation and assists clients dealing with governmental regulatory and investigation. He also advises clients in white collar crimes and critical incidents. His compliance experience relates to matters of data security and personal information protection, anti-bribery, anti-unfair competition, anti-monopoly, internal fraud, consumer protection, etc.
He has represented clients in multiple types of contentious cases before PRC courts, including construction and real estate disputes, corporate control contest, investment disputes, labour disputes and tort disputes.
