Jiang Ke has joined King & Wood Mallesons in Beijing, where he specializes in regulatory compliance in the fields of technology, telecommunication, cybersecurity and data compliance.
Jiang has advised various technology and internet companies on a wide range of compliance issues in the past decade. He acted as an in-house counsel to support the operation and product compliance of Amazon Web Services (AWS) in China.
His practice in regulatory compliance in technology and telecom sectors covers market access, operation and sales of digital content, cloud and other value-added telecom services. He advises throughout the full life cycle of hardware products from manufacturing, import and export, sales, after-sales to recall and destruction, as well as on relevant marketing, advertising and consumer protection. His advice covers products and services ranging from mobile phones and other smart devices, wearable devices, commercial encryption and dual-use products, to digital services such as mobile apps, online books, music, movies and games.
Jiang has expertise in providing cybersecurity and data compliance advice for branches of multinational companies in China, and was the lead counsel for BMW China’s digitization and cybersecurity projects. His services in relation to cybersecurity and data protection include drafting and reviewing privacy policies and relevant compliance programs; assessing personal information protection systems and bylaws; sorting out business scenarios of cross-border data transfer and developing data transfer compliance programs; developing and assessing compliance programs for commercial use of data; conducting self-assessment and internal training on cybersecurity and data compliance; and coping with cybersecurity inspections and emergencies.
Jiang was previously a partner at KWM from 2014 to 2017.
