Henry Wheare Joins Nixon Peabody CWL In Hong Kong

Intellectual property heavyweight Henry Wheare, whose career has spanned more than four decades, has joined Nixon Peabody CWL in Hong Kong as a partner.

Wheare focuses his practice on intellectual property protection and dispute resolution in cases involving patents, trademarks, copyright, designs and confidential information, with an emphasis on cross-border solutions. He has worked extensively with both civil courts and enforcement agencies spanning greater China and other jurisdictions.

During the course of his career, Henry has also developed significant experience in structuring and negotiating transactional IP matters such as licenses, technology transfer, regulatory issues and other legal challenges associated with new technologies. His practice includes a wide range of industries, including life sciences, technology, media, communications and entertainment.

“Henry adds to our already expansive dispute resolution team,” said Matthew Lam, co-managing partner of Nixon Peabody CWL. “His decades of experience practicing in the space brings increased depth to our intellectual property practice,” said comanaging partner Joanne Wu.

Wheare joins Nixon Peabody CWL from Hogan Lovells, where he was a former partner and counsel in the firm’s Hong Kong and Vietnam offices.
