Tim Smith Is Named Deputy International Service Head For Asia Litigation By Rouse & Co International

Tim Smith has been named deputy international service head for Asia litigation by Rouse & Co International.

Smith will be based in London and will work directly with the firm’s Asian practice to further enhance its regional litigation capability. His immediate focus will be China.

He joins the firm from the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry (IFPI), where he was senior legal adviser managing litigation for the recording industry worldwide. His work for the industry focussed on the interface between rights in music and technology, and specifically the development of enforcement strategies to prevent the unauthorised exploitation of music on the internet, including action against a wide variety of parties from music search providers, P2P service operators and uploaders, to ISPs and payment providers. Prior to joining the IFPI, he worked with the IP litigation team at Ashurst.
