Ren Yunling Joined King & Wood As Partner in Beijing

Ren Yunling has joined King & Wood as a partner of the IP litigation group in Beijing. Ren is noted for her skill in handling cross-border patents, trademarks, copyrights, trade secrets, unfair competition, patent litigation, and technology transfer, with a focus in the area of biotechnology, chemical and pharmaceuticals. She advises domestic and international clients on IP litigation, patent and trademark prosecution, IP strategic planning, licensing and other IP transactional matters. Prior to joining King & Wood, Ren was a senior patent counsel to Johnson & Johnson, a multinational pharmaceutical company. Additionally, she practiced IP law for more than a decade in New York City.


Covington & Burling has applied to open an office in Shanghai, and has named three new partners, a senior of counsel and a senior advisor to help expand its China practice, the firm said. 

Corporate and securities lawyers Michelle Edwards and Eva Wang will join the firm as partners and will be
based in Beijing and Shanghai. Wei Zhou, who joins as senior advisor, will assist the firm in expanding its lifesciences sector in China and Silicon Valley. He previously served as vice president of intellectual property and advanced technology and general manager of China operations at Affymetrix. He presently serves as CEO of Centrillion Biosciences in Mountain View, California. The firm hopes to open its Shanghai office later this year, according to a statement.
