Cambodian and South Korean leaders discuss IP key issues

Cambodia’s Minister of Commerce and Chairperson of the National Committee for Intellectual Property, Cham Nimul, recently met with the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO) to discuss improving IP cooperation training and exchanging opinions on important issues.

During the meeting, the minister emphasized the value of collaboration between KIPO and the Ministry of Commerce. This has produced impressive outcomes over the years, especially the upcoming signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on Intellectual Property Cooperation, which will take place in front of the leaders of the two nations.

Nimul also emphasized how the National Intellectual Property Policy 2023–2028, which serves as a roadmap for IP development, demonstrates the Royal Government of Cambodia’s commitment to bolstering IP protection and implementation to foster the creation of new goods and services, innovation, and a fair and competitive business and investment environment.

An MoU was signed by the two parties during this meeting with the aim of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the area of intellectual property, particularly by establishing a broad framework and flexibility.
