Assegaf Hamzah & Partners is noted for its work in both contentious and non-contentious work; it often mounts successful challenges on behalf of clients against decisions of the trademark authorities. AZP Legal Consultants is a new-generation, full-service law firm. The firm’s intellectual property practice offers services in patent, trademark, and copyright, industrial designs and trade secrets. In 1987 Cita Citrawinda Noerhadi took over the management of the firm, and in 1995, Migni Myriasandra, another daughter of Toeti Heraty N Roosseno, became involved in the management of the firm. Batavia Patentservis Asia’s services comprise patent, trademark, industrial design, copyright, plant variety, franchise and geographical indication. It advises both domestic and international clients beginning from filing until maintenance and renewal. Brigitta I. Rahayoe & Partners is led by Brigitta Imam Rahayoe, who launched the firm in 1996 after more than a decade of association with Ali Budiardjo, Nugroho, Reksodiputro. She was reportedly the first woman in Indonesia to receive a Master’s degree in intellectual property.

With extensive experience in planning and conducting raids, DNC Advocates at Work, established in 1994, is well known for helping clients tackle counterfeiters. While the firm does not take clerical administration work of registering IP, it does assist clients to commercialize their rights, making sure that their contractual arrangements in the commercialization of their IP in Indonesia work and are enforceable. 

Fortuna Alvariza has left K&K Advocates to become founding partner at FAIP Advocates and IP Counsels in Jakarta. In addition to her non-contentious work, Alvariza is known as a successful IP litigator. She formerly served as an in-house counsel at one of the country’s largest food and beverage companies. In 2019, the Indonesian Creative Economic Agency (BEKRAF) engaged her as an expert for developing legal guidance on IP commercialization for creative industries in Indonesia, together with the Indonesian Franchise Association and the Indonesian License Association. 

Donny Fernando leads Fernando and Associates in Jakarta. The firm files trademark applications, primarily for domestic clients, and trademark cancellation suits. Founded in 1933, George Widjojo & Partners is one of the oldest IP firms in Jakarta, specializing in trademark matters such as registrations, renewals, searches, assignments, mergers, litigation and cancellation proceedings, as well as patent, trade secret, integrated circuit, industrial design and copyright matters.  

Ginting & Reksodiputro, in association with Allen & Overy, is noted for its tech work. Partner Sugianto Osman has a strong record in the private equity, technology and telecommunications sectors; he previously worked in-house as the head of legal at a telecommunications company in Indonesia.

HHP Law Firm, formerly known as Hadiputranto, Hadinoto & Partners, is the Indonesian member firm of Baker McKenzie. The firm was named the patent firm of the year at the 2023 Asia IP Awards in Singapore. Its IP team helps international clients with cease-and-desist campaigns, anti-counterfeiting raids, infringer investigations and other related matters. The IP team is led by partner Daru Lukiantono. KPMG Law entered the Indonesia market in late 2022 when it acquired many of the member firms of the ZICO Law network, including Indonesian firm Roosdiono & Partners. Triewanty has more than 10 years of experience in the sector; her landmark dispute cases include the Indonesian National Arbitration Center’s trademark case and the KOPITIAM case. Tilleke & Gibbins’ Jakarta office began serving clients in September 2013 and has been operated as a dedicated IP agency. Its leading Southeast Asian IP practice has decades of experience in the region and has been instrumental in the development of IP law and practice in a number of jurisdictions. As a result, multinational clients such as Bvlgari, Gap, Giorgio Armani, Starbucks, Toyota, Grab, Lazada and Walmart have rapidly come to rely on the firm to protect their trademarks, patents, copyright, and other IPRs. Winuriska Prayogo and Endra Prabawa have launched Winuriska, Prabawa & Partners. Prayogo formerly led IP boutique WIN IP, while Prabawa was a partner at Roodiono & Partners. Together, the two have nearly 50 years of experience in Indonesian IP law. Prayogo – who uses the name Winuriska – represented an Indonesian airline in a business method patent litigation and patent infringement litigation at the commercial court, and took a significant role in a patent and design infringement case against seven local automotive companies for a high-profile Japanese automotive company. Prabawa regularly handles official actions in the local IP office, and argues technical and complex IP issues before the apex court in Indonesia.   

Partner and IP Consultant Patricia Ann Winarta has led Winarta IP to be a top IP firm in Jakarta. The firm handles patent cases such as filing, prosecution, grant, and the maintenance of granted patents. It also handles applications of trademark, industrial design, copyright and other IP with a computerized practice managing all activities of the firm especially the docketing system of IP matters, file control and accounting. It works closely with corporate and commercial law firm Frans Winarta & Partners. 

In late 2022, regional law firm network ZICO Law entered into an agreement with KPMG Law under which many of the network’s firms joined the KPMG Law network, including Roosdiono & Partners. ZICO Law no longer has a presence in Indonesia.
