WIPO, IPOS launch pilot IP mentorship programme for intangible assets
17 February 2023
Enterprises in Singapore can now tap on the Mentorship for Intangible Asset Transformation (MINT) programme which provides local enterprises with one-on-one mentorship to use their intangible assets (IA), including intellectual property (IP), to grow their business.
MINT is a collaboration between the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and the Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS).
Under the pilot programme, companies will receive complimentary one-on-one mentorship with WIPO-curated local and international experts. MINT will also provide training and access to practical tools and resources, peer learning and networking opportunities as well as exclusive access to international events.
“Providing access to mentors in IP is yet another initiative by IPOS and WIPO to make IP more accessible and relevant to enterprises. We hope that enterprises will take advantage of this complimentary programme to tap on the experience and expertise of our partners, who can help enterprises understand the importance of their IA and make the most of them,” said IPOS chief executive Rena Lee.
“With the rise of the intangible economy, strategic IP management is critical for the success of businesses and particularly intangible-intensive firms,” said Marco Alemán, WIPO’s assistant director general of the IP and innovation ecosystems sector.
The MINT programme will commence in early April 2023. Enterprises can submit their application to be considered for mentorship at WIPO’s website by March 13, 2023.
