Remfry & Sagar Promoted Four Partners-Designate To Partner

Remfry & Sagar has promoted four partners-designate to the position of partner, three in the firm’s patents department and one in the corporate department. The firm now has 14 partners.


Shukadev Khuraijam has been with the firm since 2004 and has extensive prosecution and opposition experience at the Indian Patent Office. He advises clients on a wide spectrum of patent matters, including pharmaceutical patents in particular; he has appeared before the courts in several prominent pharma battles. He is a frequent commentator on the Indian patent milieu and holds bachelor’s degrees in science as well as in law.


Vineet Rohilla holds a post-graduate degree in science and a bachelor’s degree in law. With more than 12 years in the profession, he has in-depth knowledge of patent law with extensive experience in assisting clients in patent prosecution and litigation matters before various forums including the High Courts and the Intellectual Property Appellate Board. His expertise includes preparing litigation strategy and handling technical aspects of claim construction and infringement/invalidity analysis.


Swarup Kumar has master’s degrees in chemistry and law and holds a diploma in intellectual property rights. Though 11 years of experience make him well-versed with many facets of IP law, prosecution and enforcement of patents are his predominant strength. He lectures frequently on Indian patent law and practice and is a member of several international organizations including APAA and FICPI.


Cyril Abrol has been promoted to partner in the firm’s corporate team, where he advises clients on foreign investment, joint ventures, licensing, corporate law, general commercial transactions, exchange control, competition law and intellectual property transactional matters. He has represented various multinationals in commercial litigation and has assisted numerous foreign entities with entry strategies to penetrate the Indian market.
