New Regulations In Effect for Foreign-Invested Advertising Enterprises
The State Administration of Industry and Commerce and Ministry of Commerce jointly issued Regulations on Foreign-invested Advertising Enterprises, which came into effect on October 1, 2008, replacing regulations issued in 2004.

According to Beiten Burkhardt’s Asia News newsletter, the advertising regulations set forth a three-step procedure for establishing a foreign-invested advertising enterprise, including the submission of a number of required documents to the State AIC and the MoC to obtain an approval certificate. Once registered, the foreign enterprise may engage in designing, producing, releasing and acting as an agent for international and domestic advertisement activities.
