Ho-Hyun Nahm cited for 1,000th ADR decision

Ho-Hyun Nahm, the lead partner at Barun IP & Law and chairman of FICPI Korea, was awarded a certificate of merit by Won-Tae Lee, commissioner of the KISA (Korea Internet Security Agency) for his contributions to the development and promotion of ADR.
Nahm has made recognizable contributions for over 23 years since 2000 as an administrative panelist of WIPO (World Intellectual Property Organization), NAF (National Arbitration Forum in the United States), CAC (Czech Arbitration Court), ADNDRC (Asian Domain Name Dispute Resolution Centre), and IDRC (Korean Internet Address Dispute Resolution Commission). He has decided over 1,000 decisions for such matters without having to hear court cases in South Korea or non-Korean jurisdictions. He has set a foundation for a dispute resolution mechanism without lawsuits, and it is how ADR’s needs are highly recognized.
Nahm’s arbitration decisions are written in English, Korean, or Japanese; over 95 percent of his decisions have been written in English. Anybody can have access to these decisions at the websites of NAF, WIPO, CAC, ADNDRC, and KIDRC.
In honor of his 1,000th decision in domain dispute resolution, Nahm had a speaking engagement at the 45th Internet Address Dispute Resolution Committee titled as H.H.Nahm’s Domain Name Dispute Resolution Overview 2023. Not only does this overview organize the legal principles in a systematic order based upon Nahm’s expertise, but also it will help to play a big role in domain dispute resolution for private individuals and corporations by providing such data in the format of hyper-links.
Nahm has produced numerous landmark cases before the Patent Court and the Supreme Court. He has also written eight books on intellectual property issues including Challenging the 21st Century with Intellectual Property Rights, which was selected as a best seller in the section of sociology and politics in Korea and Designing Your Own Unique and Dazzling Life.
In September 2021, Nahm had an interview with the Secretary General of the Asia Domain Name Dispute Resolution Center as he drew close to writing his 1,000th decision. During the interview, he commented on the manner in which to devise solutions in domain name dispute matters for corporations and the advantages of dispute resolution by using UDRP procedures.
