INTA Annual Meeting goes “all-virtual” for 2020

The INTA has announced that the in-person Annual Meeting & Leadership Meeting, planned for 16-20 November in Houston Texas, is cancelled, replaced with an all-virtual event, according to a statement from Etienne Sanz de Acedo, the INTAs Chief Executive Officer.

“We remain intent on prioritizing the health and safety of our members, staff, sponsors, exhibitors, and the community. As well, we are extremely cognizant of our members’ budget and travel restraints and concerns, among other factors. Cancelling the Annual Meeting has not been an option” Sanz de Acedo said.

The 2020 Annual Meeting was originally scheduled for April in Singapore, before being moved to Houston and a date in November due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“While the path here has come with a heavy heart, we believe this forward-looking approach is the safest option right now and keeps registrants’ best interests in mind. Moreover, we are excited about the prospect of not only bringing our community together again, but doing so in a new and innovative way, on a secure and engaging platform” Sanz de Acedo said in the statement.

The all-virtual Annual Meeting will remain November 16–20, with committee meetings on November 11 and 12, and Leadership Meeting sessions on November 13.
