AIPPI 2025: An elegant evening of Kabuki

An evening of cultural immersion awaited delegates from the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) at the esteemed Minato Mirai Hall in Yokohama on September 14, 2025.

The stage came alive with the vibrant artistry of kabuki, a classical Japanese theatre that masterfully intertwines dramatic performance and traditional dance. The program unfolded in three acts: it began with the joyous “Dance of Two Sanbaso Dancers,” celebrating a plentiful harvest; followed by the ethereal “Wisteria Maiden,” one of Japan’s most cherished dances; and concluded with a powerful scene from the renowned masterpiece, “Renjishi,” based on the legend of a parent lion’s severe test of its young.

The showcase was a stunning immersion into the heart of Japanese artistic tradition. It provided the international attendees not only with world-class entertainment but also with a shared cultural touchstone. The performance served as a testament to the host city’s vibrant cultural landscape and a memorable highlight of the delegates’ time in Yokohama.
