Rich Hawkins named Bird & Bird Australia co-head

Rich Hawkins, a partner in Bird & Bird’s Sydney media, entertainment and sports group, has been named co-head of the firm’s Australia practice.
Hawkins has a unique combination of private practice and in-house experience having worked for Bird & Bird in both London and Sydney and spending seven years as general counsel of Rugby Australia. He advises on a wide array of commercial and regulatory matters in the sports and entertainment sector, with particular expertise in planning and structuring commercial rights programmes, launching innovative products and experiences, executing high-value and strategically important transactions and partnerships, and responding to regulatory developments and challenges.
Hawkins shares the Australia co-head role with Chris Clarke, the firm’s head of corporate in Sydney who is known for his work in M&A, equity capital markets, corporate advisory and securities law.
