Paul Hastings litigation partner will relocate from Seoul to Los Angeles

Paul Hastings litigation partner Jong Han Kim will relocate from Seoul to Los Angeles, where he will continue to represent Korean and U.S. clients in cross-border litigation.

As part of the transition, on January 1, 2021, Dong Chul Kim will succeed Jong Han Kim as the firm’s Seoul office chair, pending approval from the Korean Bar Association.

Since joining Paul Hastings’ Seoul office in 2012, Dong Chul Kim has specialized in capital market transactions and represented many prominent Korean corporations and international investment banks.

Jong Han Kim practices in the fields of complex cross-border litigation, mergers and acquisitions and international joint ventures. His recent work includes advising:

  • SK hynix in connection with its trade secrets litigation against San Disk in the U.S.;
  • SK hynix in connection with its patent litigation in the US.;
  • Samsung Electronics in connection with patent litigation cases in the U.S.;
  • Kolon Industries in connection with trade secrets and anti-trust litigation in the U.S.;
  • Lotte Chemical in connection with its trade secrets litigation victory in the U.S.; and
  • NCSoft, a leading online game company in South Korea, in connection with a trade secret theft case in China.
