  1. For each additional class in the trademark application after the third – from KT14,700 (US$31) to KT31,875 (US$70)
  1. For conducting preliminary searches (depending on the term of the search) – from KT20,300 (US$45) to KT162,400 (US$345)

However, the government did not provide any feedback on this, according to Annikki Hämäläinen, a partner at Papula-Nevinpat in Helsinki, which has a strong presence in Eurasia including Kazakhstan.

She added that official fees had already increased significantly in Kazakhstan in July 2023. “The question remains: was it necessary to increase them again?” asked Hämäläinen. “Compared to the official fees in other countries in the region, this increase is significant.” Many of the official fees increased by around 25 percent.

“For foreign applicants, official fees can be a crucial factor when defining their filing strategy. As the Kazakhstan market becomes increasingly attractive to foreign companies, it is essential that official fees remain proportional,” explained Hämäläinen.
