Overview

Edmund M. H. Chi is a managing partner of SUNDIAL IP law firm and a registered Taiwan patent attorney. He has extensive experience in the field of intellectual property. His practice includes patent prosecution and the preparation of patentability, validity, and infringement opinion.

He graduated from the National Taiwan University with a major in electrical engineering and obtained a national professional license in electronic engineering. His technical expertise includes computer architecture, computer software, high-frequency communications, stereoscopic imaging, telecommunication, signal processing, electronic devices, circuits and systems design, network devices and integrated circuit fabrication technology, memories, multimedia systems, applications of artificial intelligence (AI) and computer peripheral systems.

Chi serves as a vice president of the APAA Taiwan Group and a co-chair of the patent committee of the APAA Taiwan Group. He previously served as a councilor of the Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA) and a chair of the delegates for the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) Independent Members as well as the delegate for AIPPI IMs, Taiwan. He is a lecturer of the Taiwan Intellectual Property Organization’s (TIPO) training course for patent examiners and a lecturer of pre-registration training for patent attorneys on patent law practice. Chi is also a member of IP Office Practice and Procedures of AIPPI and a member of LESI and INTA.
