Overview

Cherry C. L. Tu is a senior partner of SUNDIAL IP law firm and a registered Taiwan patent attorney. She specializes in patent prosecution, patent invalidation, patentability and infringement analysis, prior art search, IP management, and representation before the Taiwan Intellectual Property and Commercial Court. Her technical expertise includes computer software, mechanical art, industrial designs, chip packaging, LCD manufacturing and applications of artificial intelligence (AI).

She graduated from the National Taiwan University with a major in mathematics and joined SUNDIAL in 2000. Before joining SUNDIAL, she had three years of industrial experience as an in-house IP counsel at a high-tech company. This industrial experience gives her insights and strategies of preparing and prosecuting patent applications.

Tu serves as a councilor of the Taiwan Patent Attorneys Association (TWPAA) and a co-chair of International Affairs Committee of TWPAA. She previously served as deputy secretary general of TWPAA. She is a lecturer at the Taiwan Intellectual Property Training Academy (TIPA) on patent management practice of application and maintenance and a lecturer of pre-registration training for patent attorneys on patent law practice. Tu is also a member of the patent standing committee of the International Association for the Protection of Intellectual Property (AIPPI) and a member of APAA and LESI.
