Overview
Meryl Koh is a litigator and a director in both the intellectual property and dispute resolution departments at Drew & Napier. Dual-qualified in Singapore and Australia, Koh is highly regarded for her active court and arbitration practice, particularly in complex, cross-border commercial and IP disputes involving patents, copyright, media, video games, entertainment, pharmaceuticals and manufacturing.
Koh’s practice spans both contentious and non-contentious IP work. Lauded as a “polished litigator”, she regularly acts in high-stakes local and cross-border litigation and international arbitrations involving IP infringement, passing off, breach of confidential information, shareholder oppression, breach of directors’ duties, defamation and employment disputes. Clients describe her as a “sharp and appropriately aggressive lawyer whom you will want on your side.” Her ability to blend strategic commercial insights with creative legal thinking has earned her a strong following among clients from the media, entertainment, video games, sports, F&B, technology, resources and pharmaceutical industries. Her clients include listed companies, high-net-worth individuals, media personalities and household brands.
Koh is an influential voice in the IP and media space. She has served as an expert witness on Singapore copyright law for video game litigation before a U.S. court and contributes actively to the development of IP and technology law. Fluent in both English and Mandarin, she is often invited to speak on IP disputes, arbitration and video game litigation.
In 2019, Koh was appointed an Expert Panellist for the World Intellectual Property Organization’s (WIPO) Fast-Track IP Dispute Resolution Procedure for Consumer Fairs. She is also a Fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and serves on the Board of Directors of EB Impact, a non-profit advancing sustainability.
Recognized by Chambers, Legal 500, World Trademark Review and other leading publications, Koh has been named among Managing IP’s Top 250 Women in IP for three consecutive years (2023-2025).
