Editha R. Hechanova leads the HECHANOVA Group's intellectual property law practice. The HECHANOVA Group made up of the Hechanova & Co. Inc, an IP consulting firm handling trademark, patent prosecution, copyright, domain name, product registrations, consulting, valuation, searches, and other non-contentious IP, of which she is President/CEO. The contentious IP ptractice is handled by the member law firm Hechanova Bugay VIlchez & Andaya-Racadio handles the contentious IP work: border control, enforcement, litigation, ADR, licensing, transactional; corporate, immigration law and taxation where she is Managing Partner. Editha obtained her law degree from the Ateneo de Manila University, and a Certificate in Strategic Business Economics from the University of Asia and the Pacific. She is also a Certified Public Accountant. Editha is an accredited mediator of the Court of Appeals, IPOPHL/WIPO, and arbitrator. She is a Certified Patent Valuation Analyst (CPVA) by the Business Development Academy based in New Jersey, USA. She is a certified patent agent and currently president of the Association of PAQE Professionals, Inc. a group of professionals who passed the Patent Agent Qualifying Examination conducted by the IPOPHL. She is alumna of the South East Asia Patent Drafting COurse (SEAD) conducted by the Federation des Conseils en Propriete Intellectuelle (FICPI), an international organization of IP practitioners. She is currently Vice-President of the IP Collegium, a non-profit organization managed by the Japanses Innovation and Invention Institute (JIPII). She has been recognized as Top 100 lawyers in the Philippines by the Asia Business Law Journal for 2018, 2019.
