Overview

Sudeep Chatterjee handles all infringement matters relating to copyrights, trademarks, anti-counterfeiting and domain issues, as well as handling high-profile cases.

He was a part of the Parliamentary Standing Committees which were constituted to look into the Copyright Amendment Bill, 2010 and regularly gives advice to the DPIIT on copyright-related issues.

He is currently the secretary of APAA (Indian Group) and is also a council member. He has served for six years on the copyright committee and is currently a co-chair of the website committee.

Since 2008 he has been a part of various INTA committees. Currently, he is a member of the enforcement committee and is a member of the India Working Group on IP of the ICC (International Chambers of Commerce).

In 2015 he was awarded “Rising Star below 40” by Legal Era. WIPR has recognized him as a “Leader in Trademarks” from 2016 onwards while Chambers & Partners has ranked him as a “Highly Recommended Lawyer for Intellectual Property Litigation in India” since 2017. He also received the Clients Choice Award for Copyright in 2018. He has also been ranked by Managing IP as an IP Star since 2018. In 2019 he was awarded the “Young Achievers Award of the Year” while in 2020 he was ranked as the “Leading Individual – IP” by Legal 500 and has also been awarded by Global IP for Innovation & IP. WTR since the year 2020 has ranked him in the Silver Band for Enforcement & Litigation.
