Overview

Yingyan Li has been working in intellectual property since 2002. She has many years of practical experience with patent application, reexamination and invalidation matters in the major five patent offices of China, Japan, Korea, the United States and Europe. She is proficient in Chinese, Japanese, Korean and English.

Li has revised hundreds of patent applications and filed proposed initiative amendments for patent applications for a number of global companies. She has been recognized by important clients as a conscientious and responsible person for their major and important patent cases and has provided professional services relating to specification draft and rewriting, application strategy, invalidation and litigation strategy for numerous famous companies, and has provided expertise reports about infringement judgments and invalidations. She has successfully done patent mining for research and development centers of world-renowned companies and has conducted education and trainings for inventors and related personnel.

Li not only has extensive practical experience, but also does deep comparative research on the patent systems of major countries, and has also conducted deep studies on litigation cases in the United States, Japan and China. She has been invited many times by domestic and foreign patent offices, well-known intellectual property associations and well-known global companies to give lectures on topics such as patent application strategy, specification rewriting, invalidation response skills, infringement litigation, evidence use and strategy in litigation and compensation for damages. Li is one of the key translators of the intellectual property masterpiece Detailed Explanation of Chinese Patent Law by Xintian Yin, published in Japan in 2015, and is responsible for the translation of the Patent Infringement Litigation section. She, as the only translator, published the Chinese version of Japanese Invalidation Trial Request Brief Guide, which was incorporated into the National 135 Plan Project.
