Overview

Joanna Zhu is in charge of the legal department at Ge Cheng & Co. and is a patent attorney and patent litigator. As a patent attorney, she has practiced patent preparation and prosecution at the firm since 2004. At present, she has extensive experience of representing clients for complex patent cases during examinations. As a litigator, she focuses on providing advice and strategies in all aspects including invalidation, FTO, civil litigation, assignment, licensing, administrative lawsuit, administrative proceedings, infringement analysis and unfair competition lawsuit combined with her legal expertise and industry knowledge to protect clients’ IP right. She has successfully defended the vital interests of clients in dozens of invalidation and litigation cases in China.

Zhu is an expert in the expert database of the Beijing Intellectual Property Office, a leading talent in intellectual property services in Beijing and a mentor for intellectual property services in innovation and entrepreneurship in Beijing. She has participated in many research projects commissioned by the China National Intellectual Property Administration, the Beijing Intellectual Property Office and other associations, and has successfully completed them. She has participated in the “Research on the Demand for Accelerating the Application Process at the European Patent Office” commissioned by the China National Intellectual Property Administration and hosted by the All-China Patent Agents Association, and has participated in the work of writing the Belt and Road patent work guidelines (Central and Eastern Europe volume) launched by the Beijing Agent Association.
