Wataru Shimizu Joins Anderson Mori & Tomotsune

Wataru Shimizu has joined Anderson Mori & Tomotsune as a partner in the firm. Shimizu, who joined from Ohno & Partners, is joined by patent attorney Masahiro Moriyama, and foreign legal associate Yun Li.
Shimizu’s experience covers a wide range of IP, corporate and commercial law matters, including drafting and negotiating various technology transfer agreements; drafting and arguing complaints, motions, and other pleadings for litigation arising in relation to technology transfer agreements and compensation for employee’s invention; and advising Japanese companies on industry-university cooperation, brand management, and intellectual property management. Recently, he has been dealing with legal and intellectual property issues in Asia and emerging countries, particularly China and ASEAN countries.
Moriyama is a registered and qualified patent attorney (benrishi) at Anderson Mori & Tomotsune. He has been involved in various patent matters and is well versed in patent searches, international and domestic patent filing, and prosecution. He specializes in the fields of chemistry (organic and inorganic) and mechanical fields.
