Uzbekistan, UK to launch joint IP rights enforcement training

Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom have agreed to conduct joint training programmes for judicial and law enforcement specialists focused on protecting intellectual property rights. The agreement was reached during a meeting in London between an Uzbek delegation, led by Deputy Minister of Justice Muzraf Ikramov and officials from the UK Department for Business and Trade.

The UK representatives praised Uzbekistan for successfully aligning its national legislation with the World Trade Organization’s Agreement on Trade-Related Aspects of Intellectual Property Rights (TRIPS Agreement).

Recognizing the need for skilled implementation, the joint seminars will focus on practical enforcement, such as the seizure of counterfeit goods and the assessment of damages from IP violations.

The Uzbek delegation also met with the IP Federation and Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Group to discuss modern IP protection strategies.
