MinterEllison Consulting elevates four tech lawyers in recent promotions round

Usman Khan has been promoted to partner at MinterEllison Consulting in Melbourne. He leads the firm’s consulting practice in Victoria, with more than 23 years of technology consulting experience delivering complex, technology modernization and digital transformation programs in Australia and globally for clients across a range of industries. He has held a range of technology focused and consulting roles for leading international Tier 1 consulting firms including the Big 4 Professional services, Singtel and IBM. Although largely industry agnostic, he has influenced multi-billion dollar programs of national significance both in Australia and globally for defence, state and federal agencies and public health-care institutions. He has also been involved in supporting multiple M&A programs in the financial services sector.

Heeyung Shin has been promoted to executive director in the firm’s Melbourne office. Shin’s expertise is in commercial management of strategic vendors, predominantly in complex environments including large-scale transformation programs across both private and government sectors. With a background and experience across all aspects of outsourced ICT environments, she has supported and led critical activities for clients across sourcing and negotiation, service implementation, service delivery and vendor management.

Jeff Curtis has been promoted to executive director in the firm’s Sydney office. He has extensive IT investment protection and optimization experience focusing on ICT spend reviews, project financial management, budget process management and optimization, forecasting, application and service TCO, IT value transparency, scenario and sensitivity modelling, chargeback modelling and technology business management. He was engagement lead for a key Australian federal agency, advising them on the formulation of a three-year ICT operating and capital expenditure plan coupled with a 10-year asset life-cycle mapping.

Jeremy Blackford has been promoted to executive director in the firm’s Sydney office. He specializes in managing complex global transformation programs in procurement, supply chain, IT, HR, and finance. In more than 15 years of experience, Blackford’s career has included time within both Big 4 and niche consulting firms. He focusses on digital transformation, including strategically leveraging big data, software and artificial intelligence solutions to empower organizations to focus on both optimization and value creation.
