Matthew Berger Joins Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker
Matthew Berger has joined Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker as a partner in the firm’s Tokyo and Palo Alto, California, offices. Berger is the former chair of Morrison & Foerster’s technology transactions group in the firm’s Tokyo office.
 
Berger’s practice focuses on complex technology transactions and intellectual property counseling and advice, generally for clients in high technology industries such as the semiconductor, life sciences and alternative energy industries. He will continue to serve clients based in the US, Japan and Europe.
 
“We are experiencing an increase in technology-related work from a wide variety of clients,” said Robert Miller, global chair of Paul Hastings’ corporate department. “Matt’s global technology and IP transactions practice and his experience representing clients in a wide variety of large and complex matters will be a valuable addition to our strong global transactional capabilities.”
 
Berger’s clients include Atmel, Fujitsu, Goldman Sachs, Seiko Epson Corporation, Teijin Pharma, Toshiba and Zeon Corporation.
