07 January 2026
Lana Remedi, a nationally recognized leader in cyber law and incident response, has joined Wotton Kearney as a Sydney-based partner in its cyber, privacy and technology practice.
Remedi’s experience in cyber incident response and her proven track record of successfully managing high-stakes data breach regulatory investigations further reinforce the firm’s commitment to enhancing its expertise and capability in cyber, technology and privacy, the firm said in a statement. Her arrival also underscores the firm’s continued commitment to helping clients navigate the growing complexity of digital risk and cyber threats. Remedi has advised on a wide range of complex cyber issues, including privacy compliance, mandatory notification obligations, and the defence of third-party claims – both litigated and non-litigated.
“Lana has a strong reputation in cyber and data protection” said Kieran Doyle, head of cyber, privacy and technology at the firm. “Her deep expertise and thought leadership in the industry, which is well regarded in the market, make her an exceptional addition to our team.”
Remedi serves on the New South Wales committee of the Australian Insurance Law Association (AILA) and is the founder and chair of AILA’s cyber committee. Through this committee, she leads conversations around the impact of digital transformation and cyber risks on the insurance industry.
Her expertise has been recognized nationally. She was named Cyber Security Professional of the Year in the Professional and Financial Services category at the 2025 Australian Cyber Awards.
Commenting on her appointment, Remedi said: “I’m excited to be joining Wotton Kearney’s cyber, privacy and technology practice. I look forward to collaborating with the firm’s talented team and joining forces to guide our clients through the increasingly complex and dynamic landscape of cyber threats and digital risk.”
Since Wotton Kearney’s founding in 2002, the firm has grown from two partners to 96 with a force of over 500 legal professionals across Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and Thailand.
