INTA to return to Atlanta for 2024 Annual Meeting
18 May 2023
The International Trademark Association (INTA) will return to Atlanta for the 2024 Annual Meeting, said Etienne Sanz de Acedo, INTA CEO. Sanz de Acedo was speaking during the opening ceremony of the 145th INTA Annual Meeting, currently being held at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre in Singapore.
The Annual Meeting was last in Atlanta in 2004, and the 2024 Annual Meeting will take place from 18 to 22 May.
In his speech, Sanz de Acedo explained how the INTA had adapted and evolved. During the pandemic, INTA decided to be proactive, reinvent itself and focus on serving its members and the wider IP community. Recent initiatives the organisation has launched include programmes to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion; research into the future of IP for in-house IP teams, law firms, and IP offices; and investigating IP protection in outer space, the metaverse, and NFTs.
With an 87 percent member retention rate, 936 new Associate Members and 191 new corporate members this year, INTA is now “stronger and more resilient, more global, and more engaged; we’re assuming greater social responsibility and serving all of you better,” Sanz de Acedo said.
He also announced that the 2026 Annual Meeting would be held in Dubai, United Arab Emirates, the first time the event has been in the middle east.
The INTA Annual Meeting continues in Singapore until 20 May.
