ICANN Bound for Singapore
05 April 2013
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) Board has selected Singapore as a site for one of its regional meetings in 2014. It also chose Buenos Aires, Argentina, as the site for its 48th public meeting, which will be held November 17-21, 2013. London and a North American city yet to be determined were also chosen for its 2014 regional meetings.
ICANN holds three annual public meetings in different regions worldwide. Comprising of more than 200 different sessions, these week-long meetings are the focal point for individuals and representatives of a variety of ICANN stakeholder groups to introduce and discuss issues related to the ICANN policies.
Meetings are open to everyone and free of charge, and participants can attend in person or remotely. The Board previously approved Beijing and Durban, South Africa, for its April 2013 and July 2013 meetings, respectively.
