Filing Fees Increase By up to 2,500%
03 October 2012
The Government of Jordan, via Ministerial Decree, has “substantially increased” fees related to trademarks and all administrative matters, including filing, registrations, renewals, opposition and cancellation actions, according to lawyers at Grant Thornton Lebanon.
The firm, through an e-mail to clients, said the fee increase “was issued and applied without any previous notes.” The new governmental fees were declared to be effective as of December 1, 2009.
The new fee reflects a major increase that ranges between 100% and 2,500% in some instances, the firm wrote.
