Chinese Embassy in Singapore Appoints Rajah & Tann Singapore As Legal Adviser

The Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Singapore has appointed Rajah & Tann Singapore as its legal adviser. Rajah & Tann will advise the embassy at its request on the legal matters related to the embassy, Chinese citizens and corporates, etc. This is the first time that the PRC Embassy in Singapore has formally appointed a legal adviser and it comes on the back of growing bilateral trade and investments between Singapore and China, and increased visits and exchanges between the people of the two countries.

“We are honoured to be appointed by the PRC Embassy to be their legal adviser,” said Lee Eng Beng, Rajah & Tann’s managing partner. “Our strong knowledge and familiarity with the Chinese practice and culture, as well as diverse areas of practices across a range of jurisdictions, including Singapore and Southeast Asia, put us in good stead to advise the Chinese as they expand their businesses and presence in the region.”
