IPOS further extends all filing deadlines
01 May 2020
The Intellectual Property Office of Singapore (IPOS) has announced the further extension of all filing deadlines to June 5, 2020 for those required to respond between April 2020 to June 4, 2020.
The extension also applies to cases under the Hearings and Mediation Department.
The announcement was made owing to the extension of the circuit breaker period in Singapore.
IPOS further stated that its office will remain closed. However, IPOS’s online portal, IP2SG, www.ip2.sg and mobile app IPOS Go are still available.
The following services remain suspended:
- National Applications
- Patents Section 34 National Security Clearance & Contravention
- Hague, Madrid and PCT International Applications
- all matters relating to Geographical Indications and Plants Varieties Protection
- all matters under Hearings and Mediation Department.
The above-mentioned services will resume on June 5, 2020.
For the meantime, business and legal clinics will be held through tele-conferencing while e-appointments will be handled via phone and/or email.
The Registries Practice Direction No. 2 of 2020, which supersedes Practice Direction No. 1 of 2020, contains more details on this development.
Inquiries will be accommodated via ipos_enquiry@ipos.gov.sg or 6339 8616.
