Overview

Yvonne Tang is a director in Drew & Napier’s intellectual property department with over 20 years of experience in IP law. A trusted adviser to both multinational and local companies, Tang’s expertise spans the full spectrum of IP protection, enforcement and strategy.

Tang’s contentious IP practice focuses on trademark and copyright infringement, passing off and opposition proceedings. She has extensive experience conducting anti-counterfeiting actions, including criminal raids of counterfeit goods and representing clients in domain name disputes under the Singapore Domain Name Dispute Resolution Policy (SDRP). Beyond enforcement, she advises on portfolio management, brand protection strategies, and corporate IP matters, including licensing and franchising of IP assets. Clients describe her as an “invaluable asset”, commending her for providing advice that is “in tune with business goals and objectives.” They value her practical, business-minded approach and her ability to craft tailored strategies that safeguard and enhance the value of their intellectual property.

Tang is actively involved in advancing the IP profession. She is a fellow of the Singapore Institute of Arbitrators and a Certified Patent Valuation Analyst. Under the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA), where she has served for several years, Tang is presently the vice president of the Executive Committee of the APAA Singapore Group and is also co-chair of the Publications Team. She is also one of the founding members of the Institute of Singapore Trade Mark Agents (ISTMA).

Tang’s all-rounded capabilities have earned her consistent recognition from leading legal publications such as ChambersLegal 500Managing IP and World Trademark Review. She was named among Asian Legal Business’ Top 15 Female Lawyers in Asia 2023, underscoring her standing as one of the region’s leading IP practitioners. Her deep technical knowledge, leadership in the IP community and practical insight form a vital pillar of Drew & Napier’s integrated IP practice.
