U Than Maung Joins Baker & McKenzie

Baker & McKenzie has strengthened its IP practice in Yangon with the hire of U Than Maung, who joined the firm as senior associate. He brings with him a great depth of expertise in all aspects of Myanmar law and legal practice, including in corporate and intellectual property matters. Prior to joining Baker & McKenzie, U Than Maung worked with Kelvin Chia Yangon for almost 20 years, and before that had a lengthy career with the Myanmar Attorney General’s ofice. Baker & McKenzie’s Yangon ofice now has a resident team of 2 partners and 10 other legal staff, who advise clients on a wide range of issues, including foreign investments and corporate setup, projects and transactions, and advisory services relating to intellectual property, banking and inance, tax and trade.
