Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe launch cyber and privacy litigation initiative
31 March 2020
Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe has launched a practice helping companies address cyber and privacy litigation and regulatory enforcement exposure in the UK and EU. To lead the team, Keily Blair and James Lloyd have joined the firm’s London office as partners. The firm plans to create a global “destination practice” for cyber and privacy litigation and enforcement mirroring its pioneer U.S. cyber and privacy litigation and regulatory enforcement practice.
“The UK and EU markets are on the cusp of enormous demand for this kind of support given the dramatic changes in the regulatory enforcement and private litigation landscape,” said Doug Meal, who heads the firm’s cyber and privacy litigation and enforcement practice. “With the addition of Keily and James, who are among the only litigators in Europe focused exclusively on contentious cyber and privacy matters, Orrick will be on the forefront of this fast-evolving field.”
Blair and Lloyd joined the firm from PricewaterhouseCoopers UK, where Blair served as leader of contentious data protection strategy. Before joining PwC, Blair began her practice at Allen & Overy and then teamed up with Lloyd at Morrison & Foerster. During their time with PwC, Blair and Lloyd were recognized by the Financial Times for innovation in cybersecurity and privacy.
