Duane Morris has opened an office in Taipei – Duane Morris & Selvam Taiwan, a foreign legal affairs law firm – after securing approval from the Ministry of Justice. The office will emphasize intellectual property work for Taiwan’s robust high-technology, pharmaceutical and bio-tech industries, as well as in commercial and corporate transactions, antitrust and regulatory compliance, white collar litigation and investigations, and foreign trade and investment. Duane Morris has long represented Taiwanese companies, particularly in intellectual property, corporate and litigation matters, including Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC), Acer, Epistar, AU Optronics, VIA Technologies, Innolux, Nanya Plastics and Giant Manufacturing.
“Our new Taiwan office is a logical next step in the long-term strategy for our international operations and our continued growth in Asia,” said Duane Morris chairman and CEO John J. Soroko. “We already have extensive experience working with Taiwan-based multinational companies, and our global platform will help facilitate the business of Taiwanese companies operating cross-border, with focus on the US.”
