The Guangdong-Hong Kong Expert Group on the Protection of Intellectual Property Rights has agreed to boost cooperation to raise copyright awareness among the public and enterprises in Hong Kong and Guangdong, according to a Hong Kong government statement.
The decision was made in Guangzhou at the group’s eighth meeting, and includes the extension of the “No Fakes Pledge” scheme to the cities of Foshan, Zhongshan and Zhaoqing and the continued organising of the Guangdong-Hong Kong Seminar on Intellectual Property & Development of Small & Medium Enterprises in Guangdong.
Guangdong and Hong Kong, in collaboration with Macau, have produced a booklet providing enterprises and the public information on the intellectual property systems in the three places.
Other projects the group agreed upon include promoting the preparatory courses for the National Qualification Examination for Patent Agents in Guangzhou and Shenzhen, organising a seminar on amendment and implementation of the China Patent Law, facilitating exchanges on intellectual property exploitation and management by enterprises in creative industries and strengthening business exchanges for intellectual property professionals.
