Allen & Overy Plans To Open Two Offices In Vietnam

Allen & Overy has announced plans to open two offices in Vietnam following receipt of the necessary regulatory approvals and the hire of top commercial lawyer Dao Nguyen. The offices, in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi, are expected to open in the third quarter of 2012. Nguyen, formerly managing partner of Mayer Brown JSM (Vietnam), will join later in the year as managing partner for Vietnam. Nguyen joined Johnson Stokes & Master in Hong Kong in 1996 and was promoted to partner in 2002.

“Vietnam is rapidly establishing itself as a key jurisdiction within South East Asia and is of increasing interest to international companies and investors,” says Allen & Overy’s Asia Pacific managing partner Thomas Brown. The addition of Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City will take Allen & Overy’s network to 42 offices in 29 countries around the world.
