FPCCI Launches Brands Index Journal

Haji Fazal Kadir Khan Sherani, president of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), has stated the federation’s intent to launch the country’s first “Brands Index Journal” in October. The move is expected to lead to a nationwide intellectual property survey.
Sherani was addressing at a press conference at the FPCCI office in Karachi. He called on associated Chambers of Commerce and Trade and Industry Associations to create brands protection and promotion committees to further protect brands across Pakistan.
He also noted that the FPCCI would convene a group of brand leaders focusing on IP Security, threats, challenges, monitoring of counterfeit products and ensuring IP law enforcement, which would ultimately lead to the establishment of a national brand security council under the umbrella of the FPCCI. The council is expected to include stakeholders from both public and private sectors.
