King & Wood Mallesons is expanding its US practice with the addition of international corporate partner Thomas M. Shoesmith. Shoesmith will play a key role in the ongoing development of the firm’s ability to serve clients in the US-Asia and global markets. He most recently headed the China practice at Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman, where he spearheaded the expansion of that firm’s Shanghai office and the opening of its Beijing office. He practiced in Shanghai for a number of years and will be based in KWM’s Silicon Valley office. Shoesmith specializes in international M&A, complex joint venture, emerging growth, corporate finance and commercial transactions. He has handled hundreds of transactions involving technology companies, manufacturers and distributors, financial institutions and others. He is a frequent speaker on USChina investment and regulatory matters.
