P. Seetha heads the firm’s Chennai office. With more than a decade’s experience in patent law and protection, she works with clients across various fields of technology including computers, electrical, electronics, telecommunications and software, though the last two are especially strong areas of focus. Her practice includes rendering patentability opinions, conducting patentability searches, preparing infringement analysis, as well as drafting, filing and prosecuting patent applications. In this connection she appears regularly before the Patent Office and has brought numerous matters to a successful conclusion. She also has experience in handling trademark applications and she often represents clients before the Trade Marks Office in Chennai.
Debashish Banerjee provides strategic counselling to clients predominantly in the pharmaceutical, chemical, crop protection and life sciences domains. He deals with all aspects of patent law and focuses his practice on patent enforcement and invalidation. Banerjee also brings to the table rich and diverse experience in the realm of patent prosecution and oppositions. Notably, he has been lead counsel in successfully arguing scores of appeals against adverse decisions by the Patent Office. Banerjee also synergizes his experience from law school and business school to craft and implement market strategies to help clients maximize their IP potential. He is a seasoned patent litigator, having appeared before trial and appellate courts across the country in patent infringement matters. He is adept at negotiating settlements as a tool in appropriate cases.
Tanmay Joshi has been with the firm for nearly a decade and advises clients on trademark portfolio development and maintenance strategies. His practice includes prosecution of marks, in India and overseas, encompassing filing, attending to examination reports and arguing before the Trade Marks Office for acceptance of applications and other issues associated with the registration of marks. He has also conducted several brand auditing and due diligence projects. He helps in developing content on trending trademark issues and his wide-ranging expertise enables him to make valuable contributions on matters of trademark policy. Tanmay is registered as a facilitator with the Trade Marks Office for the Government of India’s Start-Up India campaign.
Shivam Vikram Singh has been with the firm since 2005 and advises clients across varied industries to manage, protect and enforce their portfolio of intellectual property rights, not just in India but overseas jurisdictions as well. He has extensive experience in handling trademark oppositions, cancellations and appeals and is expert at evaluating watch notices, conducting investigations and due diligences, and negotiating settlement and coexistence agreements. He also counsels clients on wide array of copyright and design prosecution and enforcement issues. Over time, he has developed a high level of proficiency in tackling complex IP issues and devising suitable strategies for resolution. Singh has successfully argued matters before the Trade Marks Office; Intellectual Property Appellate Board (IPAB) and the Copyright Board. He is a member of the European Communities Trade Mark Association’s (ECTA) Anti-counterfeiting Committee.
