Global law firm White & Case has elected Heather McDevitt as the firm’s next chair, effective September 1, 2023.

McDevitt is a New York-based litigator who has held global leadership roles at White & Case for nearly a decade, having been elected to the partnership committee in 2015 and again in 2019, when she was appointed to the firm’s four-member global executive committee. Additionally, McDevitt led the firm’s Pharmaceutical & Healthcare Global Industry Group between 2013 and 2019. She has successfully represented leading global organizations in high stakes disputes before state and federal trial and appellate courts throughout the United States. She joined White & Case as a partner more than 20 years ago, in 2002.
