Emmy Chow named partner at Deacons in Hong Kong

Emmy Chow has been promoted to partner at Deacons in Hong Kong, where she is a member of the firm’s intellectual property team.
Chow is admitted as a solicitor in Hong Kong and England and Wales (non-practising). She has been advising on Hong Kong and international trademark protection for more than 15 years and has extensive experience advising on brand clearance, filing strategy, portfolio management as well as portfolio audit/reviews, prosecution, and contentious trademark matters such as opposition, invalidation and revocation proceedings, including appeals before the High Court. She also advises on commercial trademark matters ranging from conducting due diligence in the acquisition of assets/businesses, to negotiating co-existence agreements, and advising on IP aspects in Initial Public Offering (IPO) projects.
Chow handles the international and regional trademark portfolios for local and multinational clients (ranging from century-old conglomerates to start-ups) from various sectors including consumer goods and retail, hospitality and leisure, life sciences and healthcare, financial institutions and insurance. She speaks English, Cantonese and Mandarin.
Her promotion is one of four at the firm at the start of 2022. “It gives me great pleasure to welcome Emmy to the partnership.
