Overview
Arjel P. de Guzman is a licensed Philippine lawyer. He leads the Intellectual Property (IP) and Litigation practice of De Guzman Mayuga.
A leading intellectual property practitioner, de Guzman was cited for his works in the field of trademarks and IP enforcement. He is included in Asia IP magazine’s 2023 and 2024 Philippine IP Experts lists and was named an 2024 WIPR Global Leader by the World IP Review. He was also Lawyer Monthly Legal Award’s IP Lawyer of the Year 2023 for the Philippines.
De Guzman holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from San Beda University and a Master’s Degree in Intellectual Property and New Technologies from the Jagiellonian University in Krakow, Poland. He was also a Philippine participant in the Joint Japan Patent Office-JIPII Training Course for Practitioners Specializing in Trademarks in Tokyo, Japan, held in 2016, and is a graduate of the IP Panorama Course offered jointly by the WIPO, the Korean Intellectual Property Office (KIPO), and the Korea Invention and Promotion Association (KIPA).
As an avid advocate of IP law and new technologies, de Guzman is frequently invited to provide insights as resource speaker and panellist for various lectures and colloquiums in the Philippines and abroad.
