Overview

Khin Khin Zaw is a partner and director of LawPlus Myanmar Ltd. She obtained an LL.B. and an LL.M. from Yangon University and has been practicing laws on intellectual property, real property, joint ventures, commercial transactions and civil and criminal litigations for over 30 years. She was a legal officer at the Ministry of Construction for 10 years and at the Ministry of Immigration and Population for seven years before she resigned to work with a law firm in Singapore and then established her own practice in Myanmar in 2009. She joined LawPlus Myanmar Ltd. in 2013.

She has been advising foreign and local clients on setting up companies, land purchases and land leases, joint venture and shareholder agreements, banking and exchange control regulations, inter-company loans, employment law issues, trademark registration, intellectual property rights enforcement and civil litigation.

She is a member of the Yangon Bar Association, the Myanmar Intellectual Property Proprietors’ Association (MIPPA), the ASEAN Intellectual Property Association, the Asian Patent Attorneys Association (APAA) and the International Trademark Association (INTA). She lectured on IP issues at the MIPPA’s IP training courses in 2023 and 2024. The WTR 1000 named her as a Leading Individual in Myanmar in 2023. Asia IP named her as one of the IP law experts of Myanmar from 2022 to 2024.
